Abstract
Neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer development, Parkinson, and Huntington’s) are one of the emerging health challenges in the world which is characterized by the gradual destruction of brain cells and resultant cognitive and motor disability. The pathophysiology of these diseases is complicated and multifactorial and comprises a set of genetic, environmental, and biological determinants. Nevertheless, shared pathological pathways that support these disorders include oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction and deposition of toxic proteins. Given the significance of these debilitating conditions, in the recent past, there have been scientific patents on new therapeutic formulations, which promise new avenues of fighting or relieving symptoms of the disease. This white paper discusses the potential contribution of a particular scientific patent, that consists of proprietary formulations to these mechanisms, to the treatment of neurodegenerative disease progress. The article identifies the causes of these diseases as oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial pathology, and environmental toxins and how these patented formulations have the potential to provide therapeutic advantages.
