Abstract

Recent trends in online advertising have increased the interest of researchers in how it influences young customers’ purchasing decisions. Focusing on their perceptions and attitudes towards online advertising and its effectiveness in influencing their purchasing decisions, the current research aims to assess how it affects young customers’ purchasing decisions. We surveyed a sample of university students who had a good knowledge of online advertising to learn more about their exposure to online advertising, how they felt about it, and how much it affected their purchasing decisions. The findings of the study suggest that young consumers are consistently exposed to online advertising and generally hold positive attitudes towards it. These findings have implications for companies targeting young customers through internet advertising and policymakers responsible for regulating online advertising practices. The results indicate that online advertising significantly influences the purchase decisions of young customers. However, further research is needed to fully understand the intricacies of this relationship.
