Abstract

People continuously buy and sell products and services as needed because no one can produce or know everything. These exchanges influence their life paths, including their health. Coordination of such activities occurs at the individual, group, or corporate level to achieve their intended goals. Since money is usually the fundamental requirement for transactions, how it is spent reflects an individual's or corporation's ability to use it wisely; paying for products is usually in line with the quality of the exchange and its utility. Interaction skills between parties in these relationships are another factor that influences future collaboration either positively or negatively.

The production process is supervised at every level of the workflow by one or more individuals. Leadership is grounded in the following traits: intelligence, emotional intelligence (the ability to understand and manage moods and emotions in oneself and others), honesty, respect, courage, kindness, the ability to foster effective relationships among team members, openness to new ideas for work improvement, absence of arrogance, being well prepared for the job, fairness in decision-making, a positive mood that improves group performance, professional presence, cultural and geopolitical awareness, and the ability to deal with uncertainty.

Famous leaders demonstrate expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and problem-solving ability delivered on time. They perform well under stress or tight deadlines, adapt to changing situations, and develop well-thought-out plans for the future. They are friendly, extroverted, flexible, attentive to detail, make fair decisions, incentivize work when required, advise and support team members during challenging times, and inspire trust and commitment.

How a leader interacts with team members reflects their personal life, including their emotional, social, and professional life. An authoritarian leadership style never attracts followers, diminishing their potential to contribute to better decisions in attaining the group's goals. A democratic leadership style enables subordinate input, creating group decision-making. The laissez-faire leadership style is appreciated for the degree of freedom it provides; subordinates are given the authority to set goals, solve problems, and overcome obstacles, and are granted a high degree of independence to formulate their own objectives and the means to achieve them.

Some organizations view traditional, individual leadership by a boss as too costly to team performance. A leadership model that shares attributes among more than one person – shared leadership - designates temporary leaders. Each team member has the opportunity to experience elevated empowerment; this empowerment provides direction to the group as a whole, energizes staff, and supports a series of successes.

Individual leadership style impacts individual lives. A toxic, inefficient leader displays the following characteristics: unprepared for their role – expertise gaps; inability to manage emotions in oneself and others; dishonesty; disrespect; closed to new ideas for improvement; dictatorial style; arrogance; unfair in decision-making; unprofessional presence; inattentive to workflow details; distant from team members during challenging times; no support for professional advancement; no advice or support for improving work efficiency; no incentive for work when required; no timely response when team members ask for advice or support; pay for work not aligned with quality or time invested. The picture may vary, summarizing a few or more of the characteristics enumerated earlier. An ineffective leader discourages their team by causing distress that reduces group work efficiency. Personal dissatisfaction with their professional life usually leads them to seek other job opportunities. Disappointment with workflow arrangements and subsequent inefficiency generates depressive thoughts that undermine well-being, leading to sleep disturbances, transient metabolic disorders, and heart health issues. They may share their thoughts about the distressful workplace with their loved ones, friends, or other community members, which can harm their team leader's reputation. A leader's bad reputation reduces return on investment, making their business unstable. Business decline negatively impacts the leader's equilibrium. Therefore, unprepared leaders negatively affect their professional, social, and personal lives, including their health, as they do for their team members.

By contrast, an effective leader positively influences individual life paths (emotional, financial, professional, and social) and the efficiency of group work. Individuals are satisfied with their work. They feel appreciated and supported during difficult times; as a result, they spread a good reputation for their leader in the community, which increases return on investment and business stability.

Leadership performance is defined by the following: the leader's career success, the group's or organization's performance, and leader emergence. A transformational leader enables others to lead themselves.

Women vs Men in Leadership Positions

Women continue to be underrepresented in leadership positions. In some countries, women have less access to positions of power. Clinical practice has shown that women in leadership positions demonstrate more heartfelt work. They can offer more compassionate care that improves clinical outcomes and helps their business succeed in a competitive market. Expertise combined with heartfelt work ensures a successful life path, both professionally and socially.

Leadership can stem from nature (i.e., innate talents) as well as nurture (i.e., acquired skills). Leadership self-efficacy, self-monitoring, and social motivation drive work performance.

Every organization needs leaders at every level. This requires the right people in the right places and respectful interactions. A leadership style that better coordinates work output and promotes contributors' well-being is highly valued in the fast-growing technology sector.

Leadership influence and inspiration arise when leaders can envision and communicate a mutually desirable future state.

Global leaders oversee, anticipate, and take action to benefit humanity at large.

Thank you.
